In an interview on NBC's Today show on Monday, former US President Jimmy Carter said that 'Hamas can be trusted' adding that the movement never deviated from its commitments as per the recent ceasefire agreement with Israel.

Carter Clarifies Conflict, Provides Context
“President Carter cuts through the fog of war time propaganda and gives us a look into the real issues surrounding the Israel-Gaza/Hamas conflict,” according to the blog of Nazim Uddin.
He reports: “It is very interesting to know that the only demand to end rocket fire into Israel from Gaza was to allow food, medicine and water to enter the territory. Gaza had been under a blockade for almost a year or more with calls of a humanitarian crisis going unheeded over the summer.”
